Ming Dynasty Zodiac Figure (Ox)

A Ming dynasty, Monk or Priest carrying an ox. This is to represent the ox in the Chinese zodiac. The Chinese zodiac runs in years as opposed to months. Years of the Ox are 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 and 2012. The figure is 18 cm tall.

This figure was excavated along with 11 other figures, one of which has been TL tested. The TL test shows the figures to be 550 years old.
